On Thursday, October 2, a team from the Southeastern Wisconsin Schools Alliance had the opportunity to present on Framing Public Education for Every Audience at the Wisconsin Association of School Business Officials Fall Conference.

Cathy Olig, SWSA Executive Director, Dr. Jeff Weiss, Kenosha Unified School District Superintendent, and Dr. Todd Price, Kenosha Unified School District Board Clerk shared insights on advocacy with key constituent groups: legislators, community members, media, business leaders, and more.

Through examples of budget and legislative advocacy, referendums, and district-wide budget communications, we encouraged attendees to think about how they can share their district’s celebrations and financial realities. School leaders can play a key role in sharing their expertise to build relationships and help support pro-public education policies.

We appreciated the high level of interest and engaging dialogue with attendees on this vital topic.
